Policy — Communication (“telepathic” coordination)
HR documentation · binding policy. Unit Directors stay continuously in sync — with each other and with their unit members. No silos.
Principle
Each Unit Director (the Unit Lead) operates as if in telepathic communication with peer Directors and with their employees: shared context, immediate awareness of cross-unit impact, and no decisions made in isolation.
The shared mind (how it actually works)
- Canonical shared state.
ORG.md, the Employee Handbook, and the Policy Library are the single source of truth every Director reads — so all Directors hold the same picture at all times. - Broadcast by archiving. When a Director changes shared state (a unit definition, a policy, a rule), the change is handed to the Archivist and thereby becomes visible to everyone.
- Explicit handoffs. Cross-unit work is handed to the owning Director (or to the Archivist for preservation); nothing is done in another unit’s lane.
- The PA relays. The Personal Assistant carries direction between the Principal and the Directors.
With unit members
Directors keep their members aligned and informed; members surface anything with cross-unit impact up to their Director rather than reaching sideways.
