ADR-0011: This repository is a real instantiated project named KLMS

Context

ADR-0010 declared this repo a neutral template with {{PLACEHOLDER}} tokens throughout. Subsequently CLAUDE.md was filled with KLMS-specific content — project name, Principal name, and stack — creating a governance conflict: CLAUDE.md reads “KLMS / Kevin Wong” while README, CONTRIBUTING, LICENSE, and docs/canon.md still carry {{PROJECT_NAME}} / {{PRINCIPAL}}. This inconsistency misleads both human contributors and AI agents working from different entry points, because each file presents a different answer to the question “what project is this?”

Decision

Accept this repository as a real instantiated project named KLMS (Kevin’s Learning and Mentorship System), owned by Kevin Wong. Fill all placeholder tokens ({{PROJECT_NAME}}, {{PRINCIPAL}}, and any derivatives) across every file in the repo. The template scaffolding (TEMPLATE.md, scripts/new-repo.sh) remains intact so that new repos can still be created from this one — but this repo itself is no longer a blank template.

Therefore:

  • The canonical project identity is KLMS / Kevin Wong in every file.
  • docs/concept.md, history/chronicle.md, and other exemplar files are now real KLMS documents, not illustrative placeholders.
  • TEMPLATE.md and scripts/new-repo.sh continue to serve as the instantiation path for future forks; those forks replace KLMS-specific content as they always replaced the old placeholders.
  • ADR-0010 is superseded. Reviews and critiques should be scoped to KLMS as a real project, not evaluated as a generic template.

Consequences

  • Consistent project identity across all files; no governance split between filled and unfilled content.
  • Contributors and AI agents reading any entry-point file get the same answer about ownership and purpose.
  • Future forks use TEMPLATE.md to start fresh and re-introduce placeholders as needed — this repo is no longer the source of blank tokens.
  • CLAUDE.md, README, CONTRIBUTING, LICENSE, docs/canon.md, and any other files carrying {{PROJECT_NAME}} / {{PRINCIPAL}} must be updated as part of this decision being enacted.
